Last night the 10th Annual ReelWorld Film Festival got underway in Toronto with an opening night gala that included a screening of Mateo Guez's Off World (review to come). This being my first time in attendance at ReelWorld I had no idea how the night would unfold. Luckily, I ran into a friend, 1999 director Lenin M. Sivam and his cast and crew; lead actor Suthan Mahalingam and cinematographer Sebesan Jeyarajasingam. Just a quick reminder their film has a 5 pm screening tomorrow at Cineplex Canada Square. So please come out and support some strong Canadian talent. I was able to catch an early screening of the film a couple weeks ago and was thoroughly impressed by how this crew was able to overcome financial short comings and pull together to create a piece of work worthy of our attention and worthy of ReelWorld. I was also able to meet the wonderful Ada Vaughan of Sable Films. Her short film Fantasy 745 will be screening in conjunction with Children of Invention tomorrow at Cineplex Canada Square as well.
Stay tuned for more on the 10th Annual ReelWorld Film Festival.
